McMaster University
Nuclear Reactor Tour

The McMaster Nuclear Reactor, operating since 1959, was the first university-based research reactor in the British Commonwealth. The Reactor was upgraded in the 1970s to operate at a maximum of 5 megawatts, the most powerful Canadian research reactor. While used to undertake research studies, it is also used to support various industries, and is a world leader in the production of iodine-124, a radioactive isotope that is used in the treatment of prostate cancer.

We have paired up with the Port Credit Legion to offer a traditional Fish & Chip Lunch and fellowship with our friends at the Legion. Come and enjoy a pub lunch favourite, while supporting our veterans. Depending on the interest received, we’re hoping to make this a monthly event.
