2026 Fall Auto Tour
Ontario Steam Heritage Museum

Sunday September 13, 2026

(Family and Friends Invited)

The Ontario Steam Heritage Museum is a tribute to the ingenuity and inventions during the Steam Era, when steam engines were introduced to farming, rail transportation and manufacturing.

There will be a scenic back roads “follow the leader” drive, starting from Sheridan Mall (Erin Mills Pkwy, north of the QEW) to Morriston, Ontario for a self-pay lunch at the Rise and Shine diner. After lunch, it is a short drive to the museum site.

At 1:00 p.m., we will enjoy a ride around the Museum grounds in a “people mover” pulled by a steam tractor (limited to 20 people), followed by a guided walking tour of the site, to be provided by Wayne Fischer (host, curator, historian and operator of the Museum).

For those more interested in gardening than steam engines, Wayne’s wife Judi is providing a tour of her beautiful gardens.

Some background information on Wayne and his passion to preserve our country’s steam engine history can be found at: https://www.wellingtonadvertiser.com/wayne-fischer-charging-full-steam-ahead-to-preserve-relics-of-a-bygone-era/
