About PROBUS

Our goal is to provide fellowship, friendship, and fun for men in their retirement and semi-retirement years. PROBUS is a volunteer-based, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian fellowship organization with over 4,000 clubs worldwide and some 250 Canadian clubs made up of over 38,000 members. Our clubs are all about encouraging healthy minds and bodies and socializing with other retirees in the community. In PROBUS you’ll find a wealth of new experiences and a much expanded social network. The opportunities abound with awesome, monthly guest speakers, a broad range of interesting activities and social events, stimulating conversation and the chance to explore your community, Canada and the world with new friends.

PROBUS has a vital role
To stimulate thought, interest and participation in activities at a time in life when it is easy to become complacent and to provide regular gatherings to those who, in retirement, appreciate and value opportunities to meet others in similar circumstances and of a similar level of interest.

The PROBUS Club of Mississauga South is an association of approximately 200 retired and semi-retired men who, in retirement, appreciate and value opportunities to socialize with others in similar circumstances, from diverse backgrounds, and of similar levels of interest. Club members meet monthly at the Mississauga Golf and Country Club to socialize over coffee, listen to an interesting guest speakers, and conduct necessary club business.  Click here to see a select list of our speakers.

Many activities are available to members, their spouses, and often their friends. Please see the activities page for more information. Activity groups are voluntarily organized by the members themselves, based on the level of interest that can be generated. Some groups have just a handful of dedicated participants; others have dozens. Throughout the year special events are also organized. These can be anything from a trip to the theatre, a winery, a ball game, to a premium excursion to Africa - whatever members are prepared to plan and organize.
